As a kid, I knew I never wanted to be a developer. I always imagined myself as a mechanical or chemical engineer. I somehow managed to ace organic chemistry over math, lol. But long story short, I ended up pursuing Computer Science, and I realized I knew nothing!
Fast forward to my second year of engineering when I landed my first internship as a Blockchain Developer, once again, I realized I knew nothing! From that point until early 2020, I worked as a Blockchain Developer at various companies, conducted some interesting research on Cryptography, and even published a book (low-key flex, haha). Yet, despite all of that, I still felt like I knew nothing!
I wanted to explore beyond web3, so I started working as a Frontend Developer. However, I soon transitioned to become a Backend Developer! This unexpected shift happened when I met a random person who told me that Backend development would be fun. They even helped me land a job as a Backend Developer. It was crazy AF! But now, I actually didn’t know anything! It has been almost three years, and the amount of things I’ve learned (though I still have a long way to go!), the amazing people I’ve had the opportunity to work and collaborate with has been insane! Always listen to advice from strangers, lol. In my upcoming blogs, I’ll write more about my work, what I do, and the side projects I’m involved in. But here’s to all the “I don’t know nothing!” moments that have made my life so eventful!
So, what is this blog about? Well, it’s about rekindling my old habits! I wrote my first blog when I was 15 years old and got kicked out of the house by my mom (Mom, I love you!) because the blog was titled ‘S*x…shush! It’s all a taboo’. What could you expect from a bored Biology student in a lecture? Well, this blog is going to be my online diary (Twitter gives major FOMO, and I enjoy writing my thoughts in more than 250 characters, so…), where I’ll be sharing everything from interesting bugs/features I’ve worked on to crazy side project ideas, or how I’m trying to build a startup with my friends, or my latest sketches or poetry! BASICALLY, ANYTHING FUN AND INTERESTING!
PS: Also have a best friend who’ll always have your side in experimenting and exploring and always gives honest AF reviews. Forever grateful to Yathish (go follow this Blockchain geek on twitter @yathishram_) for listening to my ideas at 2AM and co-authoring the book and ofcourse building crazy stuff throughout engineering.
If you’ve reached the end, thank you for tagging along. Have a kickass day! 🙂 Build stupid things, tell the world that story, live life to the fullest! 🥂
